Here’s my beautiful little girl. She’s very clever with all that fur and her pointy ears…

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Susan passed away on Thursday 20 March 2008 at around 8:00pm after being hit by a car. I will miss my beautiful little girl! :-(

Bjork loves a drink, apparently…

Kooky Icelandic singer Björk has revealed that she enjoys drinking an entire litre of vodka every Friday. Apparently, she’s been doing this since she was 15 years old, and claims that it’s an Icelandic tradition.

She says, “I come from a country where, from the age of 15, you drink a litre of vodka, every Friday, straight from the bottle.” She claims that her drinking habit was inspired by her grandparents and helps her to release her inhibitions.

Now there’s been a few times when I’ve worked my way through a bottle of voddy, and I can certainly vouch for her claim that it helps to release your inhibitions. Wooo! Yeeeaaaah!

I also did a bit of a search on teh interwebs for this so-called “Icelandic tradition”, but couldn’t find a website that was willing to own up to this rather jolly habit. In fact, the Wikipedia entry for Iceland doesn’t even have the word “vodka” anywhere. Hmmmm….

She adds, “Alcohol is how people in Iceland lose themselves, switch their conscience off and run riot. It’s the same for me with my music – to me it stands for freedom.” I’m with you there sister!

The eccentric mother of two is also coming to terms with living in New York City with her boyfriend Matthew Barney, as she’s terrified of skyscrapers. She explains: “My boyfriend is such a city person. We were trying to solve this riddle, ‘How are we going to handle living in Manhattan?’ Because I get really claustrophobic in skyscrapers.”

My suggestion? Drink more vodka!
